Planning Consent secured in Central Reading

JANUARY 2016

Croudace Properties has secured planning consent for an exciting office project in central Reading.

The Broadway Malyan designed scheme hauls a very tired 1980’s building firmly into the 21st Century. Two new floors help expand the building from 10,000 sq ft to 18,000 sq ft, whilst the new façade includes full height, curved, feature glass providing a striking new look.

Floor plates of c. 3,000 – 4,000 sq ft could be finished to an ‘exposed services’ Grade A standard with completely new M&E throughout.

The property, situated on Greyfriars Road, is adjacent to the new Station Hill Scheme – a leading regeneration project within the M4 corridor providing 300 homes, new shops and 1m sq ft of offices.

Aaron Glover of Croudace Properties commented “We are delighted with the planning consent obtained. There is a huge amount of development activity in Reading at the moment; however this is all at the larger end of the spectrum - 100,000 sq ft-plus buildings. There are very few sites readily available to develop out these smaller floor plates to the exacting standard that is in high demand. Reading remains an exciting place to invest in”.
